Madcap Theaters
Madcap Theaters is short for (Mill Avenue District Communtiy Arts Project) this theater used to be a Harkins. It is located on the northwest corner of Mill Ave & University. It was recently purchased by the city of Tempe and now runs independent films, cult classics and great family movies.
My family and I recently discovered the theater during spring break. They were showing kids and family movies like Labyrinth, Madagascar, Skrek ,Kung-fu Panda, and the original version of Willy Wonka. It cost only $5 per person for unlimited movies all week! How cool is that; especially on spring break for all the bored kids.
This week they are palying old kung fu movies, classics from India, and environmental docu-flicks.
The people that work there are very nice and fun and you can’t beat a great local theater that is inexpensive.
